We are living in an world which is
becoming increasingly integrated. Our society has become more open to the
exploitation of possible cross between seemingly unrelated fields. Dance is
hidden language of soul, full of exuberance. It is a fun activity whereas maths is
considered to be difficult, complicated and strenuous. The two seem to have
nothing in common. Although poles apart, yet upon closed investigation, the
many connection and similarities reveal themselves. Mathematics is present in
dance. The link between mathematics has always existed. It can benefit the maths class
room. Student explore mathematical pattern and use them to create dance
movement. So when the dances lift their arms or move their hand, they are
making use of maths to create a better dance

than 50% of the students feels that maths is diffIcult. They feel maths is boring and very dull. To show that maths is not all boring, infact it’s very interesting and maths is all fun, topics ’VEDIC MATHS AND ILLUSIONS’ are choosen.
Vedic maths contains a list of mental calculations techniques which are
based on vedas. All students can do mathematical calculations within minutes
using vedic maths . An illusion is “a mismatch between the immediate visual
impression and the actual properties of the object or image. Illusion
occurs as brain might need to quickly give more importance to somne features
in a visual scene than other. So many Illusions also use mathematics which generates interest
in students for the subject

TIME AND CALENDER
“Every
time you tear a leaf off a calender, you
present a new place for ideas and new time.’’
Class
Teacher: Ms Aanchal Rampal
If we
tried to look back to when the first calendars were made we would find that
they have been in use for over 2,000 years. This suggests that thousands of
years ago people had already discovered patterns of time and seasons. It
affected when they planted, harvested, hunted, and performed many other of the
tasks necessary to their very survival. However, the calendar we know and use
today, the Gregorian calendar, first came into use around 1582. Our use of this
calendar is not so very different from the ones used thousands of years ago. We
use them to keep track of social events as well as appointments. Calendar helps
us to be more productive, help us to prioritize, to stay on task and also
remind us to take a break. To understand the importance of calendar and time in
our lives, a small tour to different cities of India namely, Delhi, Jaipur and
Bhubaneswar has been organised and
following events will be conducted during the tour.
A play that includes –
•Invention of Calendar
via dramatization
•Poem giving a message
of importance of time
•A warm welcome to Jaipur and
Bhubaneswar by their folk dances
•Explanation- working
of “JantarMantar”
•“Konark
Temple”- A Timely Marvel
•A song presentation on
time as a sweet memory of the tour.
Activities that includes –
•Time zone clock
•Riddles on time and
calendar
Values

•Importance of calendar in our lives
•Need of modifying calendar
•Judgement of time in ancient times
using different instruments
•Role of historical monuments in knowing
